Love What You Do.....

"If you love What You Do , you will never work a day in your life"....I can say this is so true for me.
I discovered Interior Design when I was really young and found out it could be a profession. I read about Design, did research on my own and eventually found out about The Kendall School Of Design as well as a couple of other schools including the Fort Lauderdale School Of Design on the top floor of the Holiday Inn looking at the ocean...My parents not wanting to finance an extended Ft. Lauderdale vacation sent me to Kendall in Grand Rapids Mi. I can say I never had a real job, as a real JOB sounds like drudgery. My working career went by so fast it seems like 2 weeks to me. Of course the clients are what made the career so enjoyable ....In the Beginning  mostly women and occasionally a husband would get involved but that was a rare occasion. In the 70's I was working with the RICH stay at home woman and we did have a lot of fun, since they had lots of time a BOY designer really got to know these women well...and although the profession has changed tremendously over the years I still love the clients and every aspect of this profession as I practice it. I am thinking of going back to work again ...I think about it  lot and then something comes up...I'm thinking of trying to find someone to let me be an outside contractor so I wont have to keep regular hours...I don't want this to become any kind job it still has to be fun so I'll look around for a while... the real problem is so many of the design stores here have furniture that looks either like Restoration hardware or Pottery Barn...NO COLOR.... well that kind of leaves me cold ...speaking of it s only 48 outside today and was 78 yesterday.... Have a good one!
