 Lizzy thought I was turning FOUR.....

Well as I’ve turned over a new leaf so to speak I have to give writing most days a try…I hope I can keep this up. The easiest thing in the world is of course procrastination…

Yesterday was another Birthday it was a really nice day we even went and picked out a birthday cake, the kind I love. Yellow cake white frosting and red decoration… these bring back so many memories…AS a child my birthday cakes were always Heart Shaped and said” Happy Birthday Jackie” they were always white with bright red roses  and trimming that was so bitter one could never eat it but the red made it Beautiful… I still love those cakes and the red trim and flowers are still bitter and have to be scraped off…

In school we would make big envelopes out of construction paper decorate them and hang them on the back of our chair… they would be filled with Google eyed silly Valentines and the kids all loved them. Yesterday I saw on line what looked like a vintage Valentine ,stylized drawings of Shirley Temple looking children making eyes at each other and something silly written in a heart like Be Mine….Well of course some adult had written how horribly SEXIST this was, come to find out I guess most schools don’t allow Valentines any more…This seems so sad to me to let adult prejudices take over something as innocent as Valentines Day…I remember one Birthday my Mom sent heart shaped cookies to school for every kid. I wonder how much influence those cakes had on my life? With out them would I have been a Pro Football Player???

 Thanks to each and every one of you that sent me Birthday wishes Yesterday… even as we get OLDER its great to be remembered…
